When i go to buy a new phone it says Koodo Tricut Sim: $0. Does this mean I don't get a new sim card with the phone or that I just get one for free. I will need a new sim card as my current phone uses micro sim and the new one uses nano sim.

You get one at no cost since you are upgrading your phone online. Not just shipping is free so is the SIM.:-)
I had to pay for one at the local kiosk. The one I ordered online didn't come with one. They act sent me to another shop to have mine out

I received a new SIM card too.  Should I just switch out the one from my old Iphone 5C to the new 6S I received?  Or should I use the new card?

I would keep the new one as a spare. Once you activate it, it expires after a certain amount of time of not being used, so if you never activate it you can have it as an extra on hand for whenever you need it.
