Maybe you need to download an app for that?

Check out gsmarena:

SOME Core models DO have the radio, some DON'T.

An LTE phone will be geared towards data.

Most likely on your model:

It would be helpful if Koodo could include model numbers next to the devices they carry to eliminate this sort of confusion. On-board memory/storage size would also be helpful as Samsung manufactures several variants of the device in 8 and 16GB storage capacities worldwide.

The model Koodo carries is the 16GB version running KitKat. This version does not include FM radio.

SM-G386W - User Manual - FM Radio would normally be listed under the heading Media and is not present with this model.

SM-G386F - User Manual - lists that the FM radio is present with this model under the heading Media.

Koodo should really make this information known to the public. I just went to a koodo store to buy a phone. The seller wasn't sure if the Core LTE had FM Radio. For me, not having FM Radio is a dealbreaker. I was in a hurry and there was no way to verify this. So I bought the Moto G even though the Core LTE seemed like a better buy for the price. I'm glad I did cause I would've been stuck with a radioless phone otherwise.
It's not a good reason to ignore this feature "because most people don't look for it". Well some of us do. It's not much work to reach out to that market.

99% of phones DO NOT have FM enabled in Canada. The LG G6 does for example, and the S8/S8+ doesn't.

I have owned the iphone 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6, LG G2, G3, G4, Samsung S5, S6E+, S7E, ZTE Axon 7, Note 7, Moto Z, S8+, and now the G6 (just to name a few of the phones I have owned). The ONLY one that has FM that I can remember is this G6.

*Edit* Damn. I change phones far too often....
