Florida didnt work...i wont pay the extra plan that didnt work

I ordered the 40$ plan to travel to florida for a week, it said it worked but when i got to florida it didnt work at all. i had NO service the whole time. I am very disapointed and i refuse to pay for that. Also when i got back to canada i got a text from koodo and an email saying asked for an additional 15$ plan!! what is going on? why didnt my plan work in florida and how do i talk to some one about getting it taken off my bill.

What didnt work? Was it your data? Was your data roaming turned on? Also, if it was just no service, was your network mode maybe not on automatic? If so then your phone is not able to automatically choose another providers tower. What happened exactly?

You probably didnt have the correct roaming settings into your phone or didnt try to manually connect to a network, etc

You may be able to get the charges reversed as you didn't use it (though I can provide no guarantee).

My money's on what Ahmad said. Your phone was probably not set up to roam. This is something that has to be enabled on the phone by you. If you let us know what phone you're using, we can tell you how to do this for future travel.

I tried everything to make it work. i turned data on, i search for networks. nothing was even showing up! i shut my phone off and on repeatedly. I couldn't call, text or use the internet the whole 8 days i was gone. it was a waste. ive never had an issues with koodo until this. if it shows up on my bill then i will call.

As Mathieu said, it is more than just data that needs to be on, it is data roaming with respect to the data connection.

As to the network itself, was Koodo chosen as a network, or did you try to pick a network in the US (ie. T-Mobile), or set to automatic

But you would need to talk to Koodo about not paying, and they may adjust your bill for you, otherwise it will continually stay on your bill.

You may have some recourse with this since you didn't use it. It's a good idea to call them (calmly) about the issue.

However, since you are roaming, you're using a US provider's network and not Koodo, which is not something they can control. Still, it should have been able to connect to someone out there. I think there was something in your phone settings preventing it from connecting.

My husband is having a similar problem in Florida.  He bought the unlimited text add-on and has absolutely no service Daytona Beach.  He had service in West Virginia, but nothing between Charlotte North Carolina and Daytona Beach.  He can't call or text.. or receive calls or texts.  When we call him, it goes straight to voicemail.  Help!!!

Hi there...

For sure when you take a pack, you want your phone to work, but as it was said before, you have to consider that you were not on the Koodo network, so guarantee the services outside Canada is just impossible...

Give customer service a call, for sure if there is no usage whatsoever you may expect the charge to be taken off your biil, at least that is what I would do!.
