First bill, per-authorized payments, and due dates

Hey, I have a question about per-authorized payments and bill due dates. I first set up a per-authorized payment with my credit card when I first signed up. I have my first bill due on July 2nd but my credit card hasn't been charged yet. In my billing overview it says "Next pre-authorized payment date: July 2, 2013" but this feels like it's cutting it a bit close. Shouldn't the per-authorized payment be made as soon as the billing period ends or the e-bill is sent? Is it Koodo's standard practice to only charge your credit card on the last day the bill is due?

when setting up preauthorized payments your first bill must be paid manually. The next month and from then on it will come out automatically.

At the date when the payment is due and not when your bill is out.

Hi there J_rod... As Robert said the payment will be taken on the due date, and since is pre-authorized payment by Credit Card the payment will go through right away on the same day (Other methods of payment like Online banking will take from 3-5 business days)...

And no worries, your due date is always around 5 days before your billing cycle closes, so you won't be late...

Thanks for the replies. So do I have to make the first payment manually or will the pre-authorized payment go through on the 2nd? I'm getting conflicting answers from Camilo_A and Paul Deschamps.

You have to make the 1st payment manually as Paul said.
Then pre- authorized payments will begin on the next month.

What day will pre-authorized payments be? In the beginning of month or may be on the last day of the month?

You can pay your bill through your bank (at bank or online banking), or credit card.

You can email customer service or call in to have them change it. If youre going to email, you need to log into Self Serve so that they know it's you making the request and not someone else
