Well, I saw the link to the pro-rated first bill. They charged me for 4 days and a full month in advance. Does this mean the last month I use before I cancel, I don't have to pay last months bill?

Hi parth,
I am still confused by what you mentioned. You had a bill, now you wanted to cancel?

In general, you should only pay for whatever you used.

After you cancel, there will be a final bill. That bill will tell you how much you need to pay.  If you think there was some overcharge in the final, then you need to contact Koodo to dispute.

What he's saying is, he is being pre-charged for a month in advance, so how is that adjusted on his last bill if he leaves Koodo? He has prepaid a month in advance, every month.

Lisa,
I was telling him all along: the final bill should tell him how it was adjusted. (credit or owing amount).

He should only be charged for the days he used. If he didn't see it adjusted correctly, he needs to contact Koodo directly to dispute.

Hey there Lisa, as I stated in the comment below
If you cancel at the beginning of the month, you should get a credit back for that month you paid in advance but have not used.
So if you paid your last bill and quite before the end of the month you need to call Koodo in order for them to send you the money back.

it depends when you cancel.  If you cancel right at the end of your billing cycle, then you should get a refund for the month in advance if they charged you for that.  If you cancel 15 days into the month in advance then you would only get half of that back.  note that you may need to call into koodo after cancelling to request that you wanted to cancel at the that time and not at the end of the billing cycle.

So, you signed up with Koodo and canceled within 4 days?

Sorry for the confusion. I am just wondering since I only used the 4 days and they charged me for a month in advance  + the 4 days. So when the time comes where I do cancel my services - would I not need to pay my last bill?

Your last bill will reflect the usage you had of that month. If you cancel at the beginning of the month, you should get a credit back for that month you paid in advance but have not used.

As this thread so far has been clear as mud, your final bill should contain no charges for your plan, as you would have paid for that month's service on the previous bill. You would see charges for any overages incurred during your final billing period though, along with any tab balance still owing.

Thanks Timo, I'm about to leave Virgin Mobile after 14 years of declining service, and they have the same policy. Pre-pay for a month.

Don't go to Virgin Mobile, there's nothing good left IMHO. Hopefully Koodo will be better.
