We get a non Samsung phone, the new Moto G. Its about time Koodo got a Motorola phone. Let's rely less on Samdung. Hoping to see a.Sony phone on Koodo soon.

I'm a fan of non-Samsung Android devices. But we got the HTC Desire 601 recently so this isn't the first non-Samsung but it's probably the most exciting one considering the price.

Though, I probably won't be recommending the Moto G to anyone for one reason only: 8 GB non-expandable storage.

16 is the bare minimum in this day and age (and that's for people like me who mainly consume online media).

I'd rather take an N4 at $100 more.

If you have an American buddy, now would be the time to call in a favour as the 16 Gig unlocked version, with multiple colour options will be sold by Motorola in the US for $200. Remarkable price.

Sam-what? lol! Nice to see a little more variety. I agree, the days of less than 8 GB's of storage are numbered (factoring that the Android OS takes up nearly 2 GB's of onboard storage). 16 GB's of storage would have been the way to go. The specs are somewhat impressive with the quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, Gorilla Glass 3, but the absence of expandable storage is a let down. It'll be interesting to see how the battery holds out as well. Motorola claims all day use.

LOL, I wouldn't buy the Moto G, got the N5, but I think it's a great starter phone for students and kids. Yes, 8 gigs should be outlawed, 16 is the bare minimum nowadays. Mostly though, I like the fact that Koodo is getting off the must only buy Samsung bandwagon. Should sell well this Christmas season.

I'm not really impressed with 1GB of ram. 2GB or higher would be far more impressive.

And the Nexus 4/5 are produced by LG.

I never recommend an Android device with less than 2 GB RAM. I'd much rather this phone was dual-core with 2 GB RAM. I think that quad core with only 1 GB is a peculiar choice.

Looks like they are getting the 8 Gig black model according to Mobile Syrup.

Unfortunately, they are getting the 8GB model according to other sources. I find it unfortunate since 8GB is really small and most people need at least 16GB.

Agreed, unless it has expandable storage, 8GB is unacceptable for consumers today.

That comes down to the specific person. You can't say that 8GB is unacceptable for all consumers.

I agree. 8 GB may be enough for many casual users, but I think that it's cutting it really close.
