Hello.

There's been quite some questions about transferring ownership lately on Koodo forums but there isn't an entry in Koodo's FAQ about that. Even if people search it, they won't find nothing. Therefore, it would be really nice to add some info about it like the costs, how to do it, etc.

Plus, I think you need to have valide ID plus a CC check in order to be able to process that. But thanks, I wasn't able to fin this page through Google!

You are right! When I search the same thing on google it doesn't come up. Only community pages. Google seem to be ignoring koodo's page. You can only blame koodo for that. When I search on koodo's site though the same search, it's the first page.

No, sometimes they return Koodo's page. I believe the term is too large because when I search : Can I give my Koodo SIM card to a friend? it brings up the good page!

Of course it will. :-) Because you are searching exactly what koodo wrote. But I don't beleive that's what any ordinary person would look for. The word 'ownership' should be in the title. I'm pretty sure that's something most people would include in their search.

The stupid thing is that even on the page they list the fees it says "change account user name" . It took me a while to figure out that's what they meant by transfer of ownership.

Haha same here. This is why I hope Koodo will change it for a more obvious term then!

Has it been implemented yet?

I am potentially leaving Koodo in the next couple of months -- only because I received a better offer from another company (not Wind nor Mobilicity).  I would like to give another Koodo customer the opportunity to take over my plan (for the cost of the ownership transfer fee, if any).

My question is this -- must a Koodo customer accepting an ownership transfer have a $0 Tab, or can an existing Tab be moved to the plan that the Koodo customer is accepting?

I suggest posting it in a different thread so you get more visibility!

Hi Jeremy,

When you do a transfer of responsibility, your Tab balance is transferred as well if the credit check of the new customer allows for a Tab. Hope that helps :)

Thanks, I would pay off my Tab in full, but if the Koodo user wanting to take my plan has a Tab of his/ her own, would he/she be able to transfer that Tab balance?

I think you misunderstand, with a transfer of ownership you are not transferring your plan onto someone else's line, you are transferring your line onto someone else's account. E.g.: you have the number 555-555-0001, the other person has 555-555-0002. After the transfer of ownership, the other person is responsible for both 555-555-0001 and 555-555-0002. Each line will have its own separate plan and tab balance. These balances are tied to their individual lines and cannot be transferred between them.

Thanks Timo, that clarifies everything. I appreciate all the responses and perhaps I will stick with Koodo after all =)

Can someone please look that idea up. It's been quite some time and people are still asking this question...
