The charging port for my Alcatel was damaged in february. I took it to a local repair shop. Three weeks later, they said that they could not find a replacement port from their supplier. I went to the Koodo store at the mall, but they redirected me back to the repair shop. Very disappointed. I paid 80$ to Koodo in Feb. and Mar. even though I didn't have any access to my phone. The repair shop thinks they may be able to fix it at a cost of $110.

What do you mean "local repair shop"? Do you still have warranty on your phone? I don't understand what you would want koodo to do. It's an Alcatel phone if you have warranty they wil send it to them to fix unless it's physical damage in which case you pay.

When you car breaks down and need a week's worth of repair you still pay your insurance on it, they don't give you a credit either.

A broken charger port is usually considered physical damage and the warranty may not cover it. If Koodo is asking for money to cover the repair then it's likey not covered and your only option is to pay the repair.

Alcatel phones are cheap garbage, just go buy a new phone. You get what you pay for.

I disagree that they are cheap garbage. I had major lag issues with my GS5, IDOL X+ outperformed it and the screen is much nicer.

The only good thing about the Alcatels IMO is the 2 year manufactures warranty lol. To each their own
