I changed my phone from blackberry curve to blackberry Z10, Currently my plan is 200 min for $30 + add on blackberry messenger ($5). Now since I changed the phone, I am getting approximately additional $30 charges for data. Although I do not use the data except for blackberry messenger. At home I use wifi to watch online content and set off the phone for data. But when I check on the data usage, I got charges for using data which I do not know. Anyone knows why am I getting charges for the data I do not use? Thanks

The BBM add in isn't compatible with the newer BB 10 devices. Nor are the old BB plans really since they didn't include a ton of data (sometimes it was all pay per use)

You probably have apps or email That are updating in the background. If you're using BBM away from Wifi, you're using pay per use data. You need to change your plan to one that better suits your data needs.

I see, I think Koodo should have notified (alerted) me that the BBM is not compatible. I am getting charges BBM adds on even though is not compatible anymore. Thanks a bunch for your time Chad!!

Blackberry 10 devices are no longer eligible for the social networking and BBM add-ons from OS 7 and earlier devices because the data is the same as iPhone/Android/Windows. You'll need to get a data plan to use BBM when not connected to WiFi.

No all those devices have BBM and you can use BBM but that specific add-on is for NON BlackBerry 10 devices
