I need to replace the battery on my iphone 7 took it to the authorized repair centre and was told I have to pay a $35.00 fee for battery replacement even though I pay a monthly fee for apple care. Is this standard procedure?

Apple care+ is supposed to cover battery replacements. How long have you had your phone for? When you say authorized Repair centre do you mean an apple store?

Only out of warranty battery repairs will cost the $35.

Phone is a little over one year old. I took it to place of purchase (Koodo) where I also purchased apple care plan. They advised me to take it to an independent repair location which they recommended for the problem. This is where I was told of the extra charge.

@Bob:the apple care+ is applicable at Apple location or Apple authorized center. I would suggest you visit an Apple store, they would do it for free (normally the applecare+ would apply for 2 years)
