I am always charged a data overage amount of $5 even if i dont use up to 500mb which is my plan. I want to stop koodo from charging me an extra $5 every month for data, even if i did not use it. I am not on tab and confirm that I use less than the 500mb on my plan.

Does your data usage app or your self serve indicate you have used 500mb or less?

If so take a screen shot as proof and call Koodo to ask what the hell. *611 on your Koodo cell. It's a free call.

If your phone was previously from verizon try calling the toll free number 1866 995-6636. Other wise try putting a koodo sim in your phone instead of a verizon one?

Cameron is right. If you're using another service provider such as Verizon you'd need to dial the toll free number to speak with someone from Koodo. As soon as you switch the sim card to the Koodo one in your phone, you'll be able to dial *611 and be directed to Koodos customer service.

611 is carrier-dependent. It'll call whatever customer service is associate with the account in use. It may be pre-programmed into your contact list by Verizon, but manually dialing 611 with a Koodo SIM will always get you Koodo. I've used 2 Verizon phones with Koodo and didn't have an issue reaching 611 from either.

Data needs to be turned on to send and receive MMS. Maybe that's what's hapening.

Sorry, just realized you said you are not on tab. Can you gives a screenshot (minus personals) and we can help more.

Are you sure it's not a 'tab' charge you are seeing on your bill? If you haven't used your 500MB than the charge is for something else other than data.

Av called them and the issue has been resolved. It only happened for 2 months and they claimed I overused the second month by 2mb. I guess the way the phone measures the data is different from the service provider. I left a good 20mb cushion.

Is it possible to stop them from giving extra data when my plan's 500mb finishes.

Thanks gurus.

Ahhhh.....I see.....ok so it's not koodo's fault after all. Yes, your phone should only be used as a guideline for how much data you are using. Koodo won't be able to cut you off but you get 2 warnings from them as a text message. One at 75% and another at 95% of your data bucket. When you get that, turn data off on your phone if you don't want to go over and use wi-fi.

Your data usage in Self Serve is a lot more accurate than your phone's built-in counter.
