Expensive plans

Why is there no decent affordable plans on koodo? You have to be making 20-22 bucks an hour to be able to afford the plans they have. I myself have gotten laid off from my job and cant afford to pay $70 for 300 minutes and ontop of that $10 so I can use the internet a couple times when my boss calls me in to do casual work. So I am stuck with the cheap $25 a month and 100 minute air time plus $7.50 for a measly 50MB of internet, which I chew up in a half days work using google maps. I remember when koodo had unlimited calling and text for like $30 buck a month.... and now times are hard for Alberta workers and they jack up the price..terrible... id like to see koodo offer an unlimited text, canada wide talk and 1GB plan for like 40-45 a month....that would make them very competitive again

Alberta has the 45$ plan that gets you 500 minutes, and 500mb of data. Or for 60$ you get unlimited Canada wide and 1 gb of data./ Those prices match to most of Canada with Koodo. its not only Alberta getting high plans.

Why can there not be just a unlimited minutes with like 150 - 200 mb of data for 35-40?? That would make more sense for the people that use the internet casually but the phone a lot

Have you considered using VoIP services like Fongo when you're connected to WiFi in order to save your minutes?

I was going to get more data but unlimited talk n text with 2gb is 90$. I'll stay with my 1gb and be careful for 45

They seems changed price.
Now, $70 for Unlimited Canada-wide minutes + 3GB
Or   $60 for 1000 Canada-wide  minutes + 2 GB

If original poster and other folks caught in economic freefall really want to cut costs and usage to the bone, prepaid is an option worth considering.

Fongo or another VoIP system when in range of wifi will cut down on call costs. Switching to a different navigation system such as HERE or MapFactor can virtually eliminate data charges if you have enough space on your phone to pre-load your relevant maps when on wifi.

There are other options to many data-hog Google and Apple apps... you just have to search them out.

Such a good idea. So many people are almost always on WiFi.

There is a $50 rate plan with 500 minutes, unlimited after 5PM and 1GB of data. You can change it through your selfserve for free.
