Just bought the new Essential phone during black Friday and my screen cracked by a lotion bottle that fell on it. sigh what should I do? I email Essential Phone support and it cost $200 for a replacement and need a US shipping address. Is there any way I can get this replace/repair at minimal cost? I went to Chinese mall about it and they don't have any essential phone related accessories nor repair ><

The Essentials is new to the market so there will be difficult to find a repairshop for it. I would follow up with Essentials if you can.

What method did you use to pay for the phone? Some credit cards have 90 days "Purchase Security & Extended Warranty" that covers accidental damage.

I emailed Essential and ask it would cost me $199 to have a replacement, but they will only ship it to US and I reside in Toronto.

I used my TD Visa to purchase, credit card will cover it?

Yes almost all of TD bank visa had, I would suggest you check with your TD bank Visa. It called "Security and Extended Warranty Protection".

You would have to ask them and let them know first, before proceeding to the repair.

Usually it's only for the entire purchase price being put on the card. You'll need to call them and ask.

For ppl with the Essential Phone and worried about cracking the screen check out the full coverage Tempered Glass screen protector from Poetic. I didn't want to put a case on mine and cover up the amazing feel of the device by putting a case on it so I put a DBrand skin on the back and a poetic Tempered Glass screen protector on the front and I feel confident it will hold up pretty damn well with these and still allow you to see and feel the great build of this device.
You could throw one on a cracked display if its still operational and use the device until you can get a new phone or repair if anywhere is doing them yet as well.

I have the exact same setup as yours.
I dropped the phone few times, and on concrete floor.
Everytime the screen protector breaks, but the phone survives with zero damage or blemish.
The only problem is that because the SP only sticks on the sides, it gets cracked way too easily. I've went through 3 and now I'm on 4th already.
I suppose a film SP would provide better protection in this case?

It wouldn't take the impact like a glass one would. It won't crack but your phone is more likely to crack. Frankly if you drop your phone that much, I'd get a protective case.

Yeah Im thinking of that I really liked the glass one but my phone fell out of my pocket on the couch and my two year old got it before I noticed and ripped the glass screen protector off it.... Think I'll try that route as well but with a case

Goran, that's very true.
And I'm relying on the extra tough titanium body to tolerate the shock. So far, it's been spectacular.

It's not that I drop my phone much, it's simply that this phone is incredibly slippery. But a dbrand fixed that since applied.

I don't have the heart to cover the phone with a case. I truly don't.
