Essential PH-1 is two major software updates behind

The last software update was for the September build. They have October and they have recently pushed November. The October build brought more features to the phone such as fingerprint gestures and security patches. Essential is recommending to swap a non-Telus/Koodo sim card to allow the phone to update. I've checked the upcoming software update for Telus/Koodo and Essential is nowhere listed to upcoming dates.

What if you just take the SIM Card out completely and try searching for the update manually over wifi?

From what I understand, the software update calendar isn't very accurate. Telus usually makes the changes for their customers first, push the update, then send it to Koodo for them to change what they want and push it. So it might take a little bit of time for the updates to be pushed through.

This is odd. I am currently on the November build with my Essential PH1

I also got my updates(up to the November security update) and installed them before I put in my sim card

Ah I should of done that, I got eager and have my sim before turning on the phone first. Check the Essential forum and the suggestion is to have a different sim card to trigger the software update. Simply, removing the sim and resetting does not seem to help.

The "scheduled update" on Telus forum seems to be unorganized and incomplete. I wouldn't trust it for update timing.

The one on the Koodo forums here only shows updates after they've been released as well so it's not of much use.

Have you tried pulling out the SIM Card and doing a factory reset and setting up tbr phone and checking for updates and then putting in your SIM after your setup Erwin? If so did it work?

Was this OTA update with a Koodo SIM card, or did you put in another SIM to get the update
