i need to get notified for my university for their watchlist and although i use my 10-digit phone number@msg.koodomobile.com example: (0001234567@msg.koodomobile.com) it still does not notify me when there is something new posted. i am on prepaid, this is really important and i may have to switch phone companies if this is not fixed. it is not a problem with my university since my other friends who are with other phone carriers receive these messages

Try 10-digit-number@msg.telus.com - that works for me (also on prepaid).

Interestingly, 10-digit-number@msg.koodomobile.com also works for me, but shows up as MMS instead of a normal SMS like the one I sent to msg.telus.com.

Yes, the Telus gateway sends as SMS, and Koodo's gateway as MMS.

Large emails may not send through this means. Are the notifications the university sends you short text-sized ones, or longer emails? If the latter, possibly setting up an email client on your phone is the better choice.
