Easy Roaming Period Start and End Notification

It would be extremely useful and transparent for users if Koodo could send notifications when Easy Roaming gets activated (triggered by answering a call, sending an SMS or using data when on roaming) and when it get's deactivated (following 24 hours of inactivity). So that users know which "mode" are they in. Otherwise it looks like a sneaky way to encourage using Easy Roaming even when those charges could have been avoided.

If easy roam is on your account it is always activated. The only way to deactivate it is by removing it from your account. How you use your phone depends on whether you will be charged or not.

Sure. But you get charged $7 in the US only once it's triggered. I think users must get a message informing them "hey, we've charged you $7 and you can use roaming for 24 hour". And most importantly, another message: "Hey, as of 10 min from now if you use your data / answer call / send an SMS you will be charged another $7 because your 24 hours period will expire".

I fully agree with this idea. I got email (in my spam folder) confirming I started roaming. But after that no other notifications. It’s sort of not true to the “shock free” spirit. Glad to hear it’s on the roadmap. I think if the notification is like “ u started roaming in the last hour” that would be nice. Also have a setting with the option to automatically turn off cellular when the 24 hrs is up.

Thanks for the suggestion! We definitely have it on the road map and once real time notification can be incorporated via all carrier, this is something we'd like to do. Unfortunately, ratings at this point are not sent in real time to us. In absence of that time stamps would be misrepresented. But we are working on it!!!!
