Dropped calls and bad reception

Just in the last week my iPhone has had awful reception (lots of static) and has dropped several calls. I work from home and all of these calls are from my office. I have the latest update for IOS 10.2 and my phone is a 5s with a small tab plan. Nothing has changed, it just simply started doing this. I'm in Kelowna within the Benvoulin/Sprinfield area. Not sure if there is a phone setting or know reception issue in my area. Anybody who can add a suggestion or possible solution would be greatly appreciated.

What happens when you move from your home to another location, either down the block, or downtown?

Signal is good downtown. So I brought the phone to the Koodo kiosk and just traded up for a new phone as the Apple store told me the phone is most likely pooched from 3 years use. So I get the new phone home and make my first call and guess what...the call dropped! So this is telling me there is a definite signal issue. I run a business and this is not good for obvious reasons. Any idea how to resolve this?

Sadly, if you're living in a spot with poor coverage, there isn't much you can do about it. Bell, Telus and all subsidiaries all share the same towers. All you can do is check if Rogers/Fido have better coverage and if not, you might need to go back to a landline.

Try other locations in the house, such as near a window, or move from the east of the house to the west, etc.

It is strange that for 3 years in the exact same spot the phone signal was fine, no dropped calls ever. Then this last week practically all calls drop. If Koodo can't resolve this then it's good bye Koodo.

It is possible a tower is out and your neighbourhood is most affected.

It's possible. So how do you find out? Does Koodo have actual technical support? Or do I call Telus?

You'd contact Koodo's support.
