i can't open or download a picture my friend sent, I cannot find wifi setting, just network and it says nothing out enabling data, although I do receive texts. After downloading it says connection error
Hi Marge, the Alcatel A392a does not have Wi-Fi, which explains why you can't find the setting for it. To send or receive picture messages, data must be enabled. Is data included in your plan? If your plan includes unlimited text and picture messaging, then you should be all set.
Navigate to: Messages > Settings > Multimedia messages > Data Account - Select your data account for multimedia messages. When you select the data account, you should see a 3G icon. This tells the user that the phone is attempting to connect to 3G data. Once connected, the 3G icon will have two small arrows pointing in opposing directions, indicating that a 3G data connection is established. You should be able to send and receive picture messages when you see this icon displayed. (See image below)
To check network connectivity, navigate to: Settings > Network settings > Connectivity - from there you can check profile settings for messaging (MMS, Email...) and Web connection.
