Double Charges for Rate Plan

I would like to say that your company should really work towards training your employees to be better able to properly explain why it is that a double charge would be added to an account with no reason. Because of this my vacation to Punta Cana was negatively impacted resulting in me feeling stressed the entire time because my bill went from $60 plus tax to $60 + $56 (added in "partial charges") with tax for no apparent reason. I should also state that this is now the second time that a random double charge has been added to my account, the first being an entire $60 extra which was removed four months ago with the statement "Oh, that charge shouldn't be there" from a Koodo representative. These charges have now both been resolved, though only for the fact that I had to call and email from the Dominican Republic using my data to have the charge removed. However, not even the supervisor I spoke with on the phone today was able to clearly explain to me why it is that I would be charged double the amount of my specified rate for no reason. I wanted to post this on your social media forums to warn others using your services of these such 'scams'. For these reasons I will now be switching to a different service provider after nearly 7 years with Koodo and must recommend to all family and friends that they avoid your services for fear of extra charges.

Hi Tanner,
Just to clarify, Punta Cana is a place in Dominican Republic?
Were you using your phone during the vacation?

Yes it is and yes, I was forced to use my easy roam service while on vacation in order to contact Koodo after receiving my bill via email from the limited wifi available on the resort. I was very discouraged to see that i was double charged for no apparent reason for the second time.

@Tanner:
I saw you changed your number in mid-cycle.

They did charge you $56 (Dec14-Jan11). However they also give you back the credit of -$56. So that item should not be an issue.

As the agent said in the email, the amount was high due to your decision to pay off the Tab.

As I very clearly stated in all of my posts, my concern is not with the charge being returned. My concern is with the fact that I have now, for the second time, been double charged for no reason, requiring me to take action and seek out a Koodo agent. Had I set up pre-authorized payments I would have been charged that amount. Once again, the issue is not that the money was returned but that I was, again, charged double my rate plan. I personally feel as if Koodo is attempting to get more money from those consumers less adamant then myself in checking bills.

Ok, I got your point. I didn't leave my credit card online either. I trust Koodo but I want to control every payment on my own terms.

However, regarding the practice, It is quite normal though.I think Rogers/Fido also did it like that.

I personally do not see that double charge you're talking about.

@Tanner
Are you saying the partial charge -$56 credit only appeared under your tab charge after you complained?  Or was it always there?

What did the rep say the extra charges are for?

He said that because I changed my phone number that is why the charged were added.

Ok I see that.  And I also see the credit due the the phone number change.  So the bill is correct

You are receiving partial charge of $56 on 2nd image you posted. So there is no double charges there.
Also, you seems payed off your Tab, thats why you have more amounts on your bill

When you changed your number on Dec 14th, you were credited for the remainder of the month's plan for that number, that's the -$56.00 listed on the bill. At the same moment, you were billed for the remainder of the month on the new line, which also comes to $56.00. The billing information you posted shows that the credit and the charge were both applied at the same time, and exactly offset each other. I'm not seeing any double charge.

Too many words in this thread.

$56.00
-$56.00
= $0.00
