New pay per use roaming rates as of August 28th!

for instance
Text messages: $5 for every 100 outgoing text (incoming texts are free) "

How does this work?
Do I have to prepaid $5 first? Or will Koodo bill me proportionally at the end of the billing period?

Hi there,

The way it works is when you are roaming in the United States, you can receive as many text messages as you want, but as soon as you send 1 message Koodo will automatically charge the $5 to your account as a pay per use charge. So you were right in regards to that Koodo will bill you later for using it.

Hope that helps answer your question :)

how long do $5 (aka 100 texts) last, does it expire?
a day, month, year, more?

The 100 texts are good for the rest of your billing cycle.

100 texts lasts for only one billing cycle?

So when you are on the last day of the cycle and send one message, you pay $5, when before August 28th, 2014 you would pay only $0.6. Doesn’t sound like a fair deal.

True, but that's only in your specific scenario.

Before August 28th you would pay $5.40 for just 9 texts, outbound and inbound.
