I was inspired to suggest this after a recent 6 week trip. Because I didn't want to give up my awesome Koodo monthly plan, I paid my monthly fee while in Europe. My iPhone was in airplane mode the entire time and all of my data usage came from free, unreliable Wi-Fi at the hostels I stayed in. My idea is this: If a customer knows they are going to be away for an extended period of time, but they don't want to put their account on hold and therefore lose their current monthly plan, they can choose to donate their unused minutes/data from that month to a charity or not-for-profit who uses Koodo services.
Charities and not-for-profits count on good, reliable companies such as Koodo for their operation to run smoothly. They also rely on donations to continue to run and do good in the world. By providing them with donated cellular minutes and data, they are able to put more money towards doing what they do best- helping members of their communities!
