The SGS2X has Gorilla Glass. And what do you mean by : "I feel at times it doesnt support the glass."

As Robert stated it does have Gorilla Glass, however it is the first integration of the product so it's not thee best. The Galaxy S3 and Note 2 have Gorilla Glass 2 which is much better & Now Corning is bringing out Gorilla Glass 3 & they finally seem to have got it right the 3rd time, Gorilla Glass 3 can be hit with a direct impact where 2 will sometimes shatter from impact and 1 will shatter quite easy but not as easy as regular glass would.

A screen protector is a good idea if you want to prevent scratches. It won't protect the screen from cracking.

ya what i really mean is of the scratches issue only.. because it do make the screen really looking nasty. do this Gorilla Glass used in this phone is viable to scratches ??

It has a high scratch resistance so the chances of scratches happening are lower. It is not scratch proof however. A screen protector would be your best bet in any case.
