Hi there! Does paying my bill as soon as I get it each month effect my overall credit? This may seem like a dumb question, but I have tried looking this up and I can't seem to get a clear yes or no on the subject. I would really appreciate knowing if anyone has the answer! Thanks! :)

Hello.

Paying it the first day you receive it or the day before doesn't affect credit. You can pay it whenever you want as long as you pay it! I think credit card record are more of a bad things you do list more than the positive things. Therefore, if you DON'T pay it, this will make it look bad and will affect negatively your credit

To be absolutely clear, you can pay it any time before the bill due date -- not "pay it whenever you want as long as you pay it".

Okay thanks! I am trying to improve my credit rating, and there are way too many mixed responses out there. :/ Thanks for your response!

Just pay your bill on time and mostly pay your credit card on time! There's no other way you can improve your credit apart credit history... The more history you have, the better

Using and paying off different forms of credit (on time) will improve your credit.

A student loan, car loan, a line of credit, credit card bill, etc.

Also paying any bills late (internet, cell phone, utilities, etc) will hurt your credit

Do not pay it late. As paying late also effects your credit negatively.
