Does flashing Cyanogenmod void warranty?

So, I bought a Nexus 4 in September last year. It is less than a year old, so I believe it is still under warranty. There was in issue where the display got messed up and displays lines over everything. I talked to a Koodo representative, who told me that it would be covered by the warranty. I haven't had a chance to bring it in, but in the meantime, would it be voiding the warranty to flash Cyanogenmod onto it?

Yes, rooting the phone voids the warranty. As does flashing a tom.

Flashing back the factory image should be fine since the phone is brought back to the original settings. Just don't mention the rooting or romming. As long as there is no physical damage the warranty still applies.

Isn't that only in Samsung phones? Nexus devices are made to be flashed. Why then does Google maintain a website with factory images available to everyone?
