No, no phones sold in Canada have radio tuners anymore.

The LG G5 does have a radio tuner, it is just disabled by Koodo so that it cannot be used

I should have specified working radio tuners sorry I apologize for not being more specific. Not sure why it's done exactly but been told it's not the carriers decision but the manufacturers themselves.

The last phone I owned that had an FM radio on it was the HTC M9. Even the 10 doesn't have it, and it's an unlocked model purchased directly through them.

Sadly the carriers want you to spend more on data plans using streaming services.

LG G5 does have a FM radio chip (Its built into every Snapdragon 820 SoC) but its our carriers that disable it, possibly for the sake of forcing customers to use data (and thus pay more for plans).
Recently, T-mobile is US enabled the FM radio chip in the Galaxy S7 but you had to install a 3rd party app (Nextradio) to use it.
Its such a shame that carriers disable it because thats one less feature that should have been there and people do listen to FM radio.

Here's one list of FM radio supported devices in Canada. They all require a separate app installation:

My G5 isn't on the list, but I can tell you it does work if you install a radio app, and it isn't using data or wifi (see below).

I just got a G5 and no FM radio app in the tools area. But I downloaded an FM radio app from Google Play (called 'Radio FM', and there are several to choose from), and it works fine. I don't have data at all, and it runs even when I switch off wifi, so it's definitely using whatever hardware is in the phone.

Yeah most Samsung and LG Phones in Canada now have FM tuners built in just some don't have an app.

If we're talking about the same app, Radio FM requires data. As per the app developer: Radio FM (Radio for Mobile) is an app to play Internet Radio stations - meaning content is streamed over a data connection. The app may appear to work when disconnected from Wi-Fi because some of the apps information is buffered in memory.

A standalone FM tuner does not require a data connection. The tuner relies solely on radio signals broadcast from terrestrial FM radio stations.
