Does Koodo support 4G HSPA (with no LTE) in Calgary Alberta?

Good Day,
The service area map I found shows no support.
I cannot tell if current info or not.
Just trying to verify  that no 2, 3 or 4G is available?
Thanks!

3G (4G HSPA as koodo/telus calls it) is certainly available in Calgary. Lte is just pretty well everywhere in Alberta and koodo's map shows the best network avaliable in colour only. If you want to see just hspa coverage you will need to look at Telus's coverage map which allows you to choose which network you want to see coverage of.

Thank you Goran,
Your speedy reply is much appreciated!
Just to clarify...
If a phone's specs say 2/3G (no mention of 4G HSPA) do you mean to say by your "( )"  that I am to  consider that 3G as covered in the 4G HSPA area?

...and does GSM QuadBand mean 4G?

Thanks

Thank you rikkster.

I will certainly go and do that again.

It was Goran's comment;
"3G (4G HSPA as koodo/telus calls it) ..."
..had me confused as he was saying that 3G means the same as 4G to him.

I have found a web site I can understand, that explains all my questions...
I was only asking here as my existing and my secondary phones to come, are/will be Koodo and seemed like a good idea to just ask Koodo...

Thanks for your input to a senior (72), I won't need to bother you here again.

2G is not available on Koodo's network. Some dual SIM phones use 2G for the second SIM slot, so they are not particularly useful on Koodo's network.

Polite questions are never a bother here. Come back any time.

Yeah, reading back, the map pic was redundant. I removed the content. My apologies MissPennie.

My apologies I should have been a little clearer. What most Carriers call 4G HSPA is 3G technology. And HSPA, especially Koodo/Telus's actually approaches LTE speeds. You might also see WCDMA which is still 3G. The issues here is that a lo of the technical terminology is used incorrectly for either marketing or simplicity purposes. GSM is technically 2G but usually refers to anything that takes a Sim card. The "quad" references being compatible with four different frequency bands as opposed to 4G. The standard quad is 850/900/1900/2100mhz. Koodo doesn't have 2G but 3G and the same quad band is usually used. LTE is actual 4G tech. It's slower than the standard set out, but the newer LTE-A is true 4G. Usually you will see in the spec list GSM (2G), WCDMA / 3G, and LTE and bands supported for each.
