I am a new customer and have given my phone number to maybe 2 people (people, not businesses) and I am receiving spam calls.

Hi rebecca,

Spammers have various ways of getting the number, not necessarily through the carrier.

What did they try to sell you? was it an automated voice or a live person on the other end?

Koodo does not sell customers' numbers. This however, does not prevent spam callers from, say auto-dialling a huge block of computer generated numbers which happens to include yours.

Numbers are not new numbers necessarily, they're recycled as there are only so many numbers available so as ppl close accounts (and after 90 days) those numbers go back into circulation. It's like this with all carriers and the chances of getting a brand new number are extremely slim.
