Does Koodo provide a new SIM card with a new phone purchase?

I'm looking to purchase a new phone as my old one just died on me. I've currently got a MicroSD card, but the new phone I'm looking at (Galaxy S8+) needs a Micro. I'm debating between going to Koodo to buy the phone outright ($1115) or Costco ($1099). But if Koodo provides me with the SIM card I might as well go with them as I'll have to buy the card separately from Koodo negating the price difference.

New phones come with a SIM Card included in the box.
The S8+ takes a Nano SIM Card not a Micro SIM Card.

If you get the phone on a tab with koodo you can get the phone even cheaper as it includes activation credits on tab large or tab medium. Then you can pay off the tab after 3 months. See if your plan you have is eligible to use one of these tab options.
If you have a No Tab plan you want to keep then ignore this second paragraph.

Sorry, my bad. I meant I currently am using a Micro SIM and I need to switch to a Nano as you said. Mixed up which was which.

I had a Samsung Galaxy S5 which I brought over from Rogers, so I was on no TAB. When this "10GB for $60" came out, I had them switch me to that. Does that mean I'll have to purchase the phone outright to keep that plan as it says "This is a bring your own phone plan only; it is not eligible with a Tab"?

I recently had a friend who was on a Tab switch to that plan and get a new phone, and he could keep his current plan when he purchased a new phone on a new Tab. Could this be because they were on a Tab when they switched over and I wasn't?

Yeah unfortunately it is a no tab plan so you would need to switch plans to get a phone on a tab.

Are you referring to an SD Card (Storage device) or a SIM card (how you connect with your carrier). You're using both interchangeably.

I was referring to SIM card. My current phone (Galaxy S5) uses Micro, and I need a Nano. I mistakenly stated I needed a Micro

@Kyle: I think Koodo charge $15 for the SIM. (tricut so you can use it at any size)
If you are looking for an ourright phone. I would suggest you also look for "gift" either from Costco and Koodo, if there is. Sometimes Koodo or Costco had some giftcard with the phone purchase.

If you buy the SIM Card separately from a phone then yes it is $15 but it's free if you buy a phone, I just bought a phone and was charged $0 for the SIM Card

Interesting, I tried to add a new line on my account, (out-right, no Tab) and the system reported $15. Maybe, they give out free SIM on Tabs (with some bonus credit...)

Yeah that's odd, it must be something like that or on upgrades which is what mine was.

New line = $15 SIM Card
Existing line = Free SIM Card
for online orders. TELUS forces $20 SIM Cards on you even for existing lines even if you don't need or want it. "No activation fee" though. LOL
