Do you actually get charged extra for proration or is it that your bill is a little weird for the first month after changing your plan?

I just changed my plan at the beginning of my billing cycle. Am I going to get charged extra? Or is my next bill just going to be a little weird but it will all balance out in the end?

Hi there Rosalinda... You will never get charged more than you are supposed to... If you changed your plan at the beginning of your billing cycle you will be charged or credited the difference between the 2 plans, the new plan and the old plan.

Example:
Current plan: 50$
New plan: 55$

The billing cycle has 30 days... So let's say that you change your plan on day 15, it means that from day one to day 15 you will be charged 25$ for the old plan, and then from day 15 to day 30 you will be charged 27.50$ for the new plan.

So the prorated charges you will pay is only 2.50$ that will be the difference between the 2 plans for the days left on your billing cycle...

Here's a video about the first bill, this will also apply for proration...

Too bad this wasn't total BS. I'm being charged $97 for a $55 plan and I switched 2 days after the billing date on January 3rd.

The only thing you want to bear in mind is that your minutes also get prorated. Say you have 200 minutes included in a $35 plan and you change plans halfway through the month your but you already used up all the minutes. Half ot your month plan is $17.50 but you were only supposed to use up 100 minutes to that point so the other 100 will be charged as overage. If your useaga is even throughout the month this is not an issue.
i have changed my plan from 35 to 50 ca. but on my bill i have asked to pay more than double of my agreement. which means 121 ca .

It's proration as explained above, but for you it sounds like you also used the phone more for maybe for data hence the possible extra charges. Take a look at the 3 page of your bill it will tell you the details. You can post it here if you need help tounderstans. Just blank out your personlas.
