Do I have to have a credit check to get a plan with Koodo? I am buying an iPhone 5s from my parents and it is with Koodo but I want to keep the same phone number and I want to have it with Koodo as well. I don't have a credit card or anything as I am 17 soon to be 18 but I make more then enough money to pay the bill even with the higher priced plans. My only issue is that I don't have any credit history and I don't have anyone that will co-sign for me.

For Post-paid:
You can't buy a phone plan until you are the age of majority in your province, (if you aren't old enough for a credit card you can't get a phone by yourself). This is the case with all phone companies, not just Koodo.
Credit checks are preformed on all new customers so whoever the account name is under is who will recieve the credit check.

Prepaid would be your only option here if you have no one who is able to sign on with you.

You should try anyway. Koodo has programs for people with little or no credit history. You may qualify for the Spending Limit Program. Never know until you try.

Yes, I would agree trying for postpaid but you will still have to be the age of majority in your province, either 18 or 19 depending on the province.
