Hello I was looking at buying a prepaid sim from eBay and was wondering if all prepaid sims come with the $20 activation credit? From what I've read as long as you activate a new account, you'll get the credit. Just wanted to confirm. Thanks.

Confirmed :) I bought one from eBay and got the $20. Make sure the seller knows the difference between a postpaid and prepaid SIM!

Hi:

I just wanted to check if this is still valid, i.e. if I buy any prepaid sim card (from kijiji/ebay etc) and activate it online, that I will get the $20 activation credit? I'm currently on the $25/month post-paid plan and looking to move to the $15/month pre-paid plan, so will be opening a "new prepaid" account.

Also wanted to check if adding a credit card for the 30-day automatic top-up will give me a one-time 100 Minute Talk Booster Add-on for Free and 10% savings on the monthly base plan cost?

Thanks.

Hey AJ,

Indeed, even a SIM card bought on kijiji/ebay includes the $20 activation credit (see previous comment). You can always confirm this information with the seller. Please click on this link http://koo.do/1Hru8dM and look at the "Prepaid Special" banner.

Thanks

Activation credit is for new accounts only... but that includes those switching from post- to pre-paid. It does not apply if you buy a new SIM because you upgraded your phone and need a different size, or the original one is damaged.

Thanks Nabil. I have reviewed the banner on the web-page link that you've shared and it's clear now. Actually the shop that I'm going to buy the prepaid sim card does not know whether the card that they're selling will include the $20 activation credit or not.

Make sure the SIM is new. I've seen a few listings for used SIMS from folks who probably don't know any better: a used prepaid SIM is toast.
