You cannot simply shut down voicemail. You can record an extended absence message and have the option to not receive messages.
Well, all you had to do was check the threads on the right side.

It can be turned off, but AFAIK you need to call koodo to do so. When I had the WHP I had it turned off for the same reason.

Finally I called customer service and they disabled the voicemail.

Can you give more details please? We've always been told there is no way to 100% disable it.

It would not be the first time a rep does not know how things work.

My post which you quoted above is specific to the wireless home phone, which is a special case. While voicemail on mobile phones can be temporarily shut off by koodo reps, since it is built into the plans the system will eventually correct the mismatch and turn it back on again.

A swing and a miss there YDNKW
They are all rate plans that have Voicemail included. There is nothing special about it. If a Koodo rep can prevent this system you are talking about from "correcting the mismatch" for a $20 plan, they can do it with any plan. There are multiple people who said they called customer service and got it disabled. Did any of them come back and complain about it being reactivated afterwards?

Koodo's system cannot even prevent phone numbers and plans from different provinces, or even having a Tab Medium plan with Tab Large (which I proved last year), so unless you have proof of voicemail reactivating on its own after being disabled by a rep who knows what they are doing, I am going to believe the reports from customers. Experience trumps "knowledge".
