Hi, my wife and I are each on an old $35 talk and text plan and are paying 5/100mb on data, on occasion we use $10 of add on data but mostly just $5. the difficulty we are having is comparing all service inclusions of the old to new plans on the Koodo site. when comparing the plans the site does not show all our current plan includes, creating some suspicion we could lose a valuable included service if we change plans . IE unlimited incoming calls, unlimited canada wide etc...what is your take on this?

You're quite right, if you have any current perks or add-ons, you'd lose them when you get a new plan. The new plans outline what is included with each one, and of course there are add-ons you can use as well, but basically you'd be starting from scratch again. The data/minute overage of new plans might be different too. So review carefully before you leap :)

Thanks for your agreement to be careful.
what you state is exactly the issue, how and where do we need to go, so we can carefully compare plans when full disclosure (or inclusions) is not provided by the service provider during the comparison process?
Also do you know what can or may happen to a positive tab balance if i change and accept the new tab rules?

I'm not entirely sure how the tab works, I always get confused too. I'm pretty sure though that you'd be best off to use your positive tab before changing to one of the new plans, things are pretty different now!

What exactly do you mean by full disclosure? Basically the plans outline exactly what is included, like number of minutes, data amount and extra features, if any... you can be pretty sure that if something is NOT listed, it's not included either but might be available as an addon.

Which plan did you have in mind switching to? How many minutes and/or data do you need, and why did you consider switching at all?

Thanks again for your reply,
I was referring to disclosure of all info (i.e. unlimited incoming and other features on our current plan is not shown when you are on the comparison pages.

We found out the tab $ we have will stay on our account until we decide to use them when purchasing another phone.

The reason was that on occasion, which is more lately, we go over $10-$15 on our pay $5/100mb data with the $35 talk n text.  total billing for current plans with $15 overages is over $100
On the newer plan we are looking at we can receive 500mb data plus an additional 500mb for $40 each and no more overages on data.

So we have changed plans, a little more monthly and no more tab earnings, hope this works for us.

I'd say that is a good plan, especially now with the double data promo. As I said, make triple sure your positive Tab is still usable. Also, be aware that overage of minutes is $0.50 (used to be $0.35). The 500 minutes are daytime only though, evenings and weekends are unlimited and of course you and your wife have unlimited calling on the same account.

Really you'd end up paying less for a LOT more data, but ultimately it's your choice. How many minutes does your current $35 plan have?
