Device Replacement/Repair

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8, the screen has burn-in and its starting to annoy me; I pay for extended coverage and I want to bring it in store. My question is my device is almost a year old and Im wondering how they go about replacing/repairing the device, will I be given another S8 in store or will I have my device sent away for repair and given a lender or... Any help I would appreciate it!

That is actually covered by the regular warranty. It's a quick repair so the screen would just be replaced.

This is where you'd go for using the extended coverage:

Personally I wouldn't bother with extended coverage. I consider it a waste. Sure, there's the peace of mind but they're getting increasinglyore expensive and have clauses to replace with a similar refurbished device mostly. I'd rather save the monthly amount for in case something goes wrong.

If you have the Koodo Extended Warranty and want to get it repaired through that then you would start a claim here:
https://www.phoneclaim.com/koodo/
(Note that the replacement fee for the S8 is $250 or $315 in MB)

If you want to get it repaired through Samsungs manufacturers warranty then you can take it to a Koodo shop or contact Samsung directly. You will be given a loaner phone to use if that kiosk has them available.

Because they can charge for a replacement fee. That's basically it. That's also why I think it's not worth it. You don't need a replacement for this issue. They will just replace the screen. I've seen a couple get replaced. It's done very well. It's quick and since it's a burn in issue in under a year you're definitely covered.

Yah the thing is its my only phone and I dont have a spare so I can't be waiting for it to come back, unless they can do it in store and have it back to me the same day or next day?

Checked the small print and for manufacturing defects you cant use the extended warranty until your manufacturer's warranty is up so you actually have to go through samsung (or bring it to a koodo kiosk and let them send it to samsung for you) for this anyways.

For a timeline itll likely be a week or two before you get your phone back. Like I mentioned above you'll have to see if the koodo kiosk you go to has loaners available.
