Despair! Can't transfer my BB Bold to Koodo prepaid+boosters. What to do?

I'm so disappointed. I love my BB Bold, and wanted to transfer to Koodo pre-paid+boosters next week when my Telus contract expires. I went to the Koodo store today, had a lovely helpful salesperson who sold me a SIM card, checked that it worked, told me exactly how to move to Koodo , etc. But--shock and horror--I've just seen that I can't get data on my Bold. I use my phone almost solely to text, email and whatsapp family overseas and the BB is ideal for this. Do I have to change to the Q5, which just doesn't feel as substantial as the Torch? Any other ideas?

With a smaller screen you're right that the Q 5isnt as substantial however don't discount blackberry OS 10

The Q5 Is a perfect introduction to the new operating system amd Is a Fast and easy little device to own. The keys are well spaced and the screen is bright and clear.

Other options are to check Kijiji for a Q10 \ Z10 or Z30. Just be careful to be sure the imei is clear before you pick one up from this route. And be sure to meet your assailant errr trading partner in a public place.

Other options include picking up a Moto G Or Lumia 635 but being a bb guy , I say the Q5 is just as good though I'm sure some would argue that with me.

Aww so sorry to hear it Jeanine, I saw your message in another forum as well and responded there too.

I think the Passport is going to be great (though I'm not really a BB person)... it might be worth waiting for but of course we don't know yet what it is going to cost you!

you should try to set up the APN (Access Point Name) address on the BB Bold, you can google how to do it or you can browse on the Setting on the device, that might be an option, another can be to reset the phone to Factory Settings and try again but all data and info on phone, will be lost, my advice will be to get a new BB, the Q5 its a great phone, hope that helps :D

Prepaid doesn't support BIS which the op requires. That's why he wont be able to use this service with their device

Thank you all for your help. I've gone ahead and bought the Q5. (Thank, Sophia, for both of your answers. It's very small, the virtual world!)
