Many people change providers; Do to their ever changing needs -Finances, moves etc- Why not offer the customer who has been with koodo for long time an option to level up there service after 3 years of dedicated service?Example offer them the next up rate plan with additonal ftres for the same price they are paying on their current plan-Just to show alittle more cx appreciation ?

yes i agree,
im sure i have metioned it sometimes before
but there has to be some kind of csutomer apprection programme of some sort...
Its true, i am with koodo for last 4 years, when i go to future shop for a phone upgrade or so , the $ 100 gift coupon is only for new numbers not for existing customers. They should treat existing customers also.

I agree with John Lee, one of the perks about being with koodo is the fact that you are NOT locked in. AND also the koodo tab that allows you to recieve a new phone, I just upgraded my phone this summer and only had to pay $5.00 for it, i had only been with koodo a year and was alreay able to upgrade, that made my day! I think there low low rates and cheap phones really are great, i'm always up for more promotions to loyal customers thats for sure though!

Yes, I agree about not being locked in. Some contracts that we see being 3, 2 or even one year are big commitments. Koodo makes it easyer with people with commitment issues and also delivers a great service :)

I don't think Koodo will contribute to that because their plans are already discounted and so are their phones. Other big companies like Telus, Rogers and Bell are able to do those services because they have a much bigger customer audience and more funding. (Their plans are also more expensive and they lock you into 3 year contracts while Koodo doesn't)

The only reason they do them is Apple required it for Koodo to carry iPhones.

I think what you're all referring to is some sort of customer loyalty program, sounds like a good idea, it might be a good way to retain customers thinking of going elsewhere.

not only that,
its for the dedicated customers
who love koodo, whose been with koodo since day one, made all payments on time, never been suspended, never has asked for credits. because those customers do exist, and it does come up once in awhile, customers asking if theres something that they can be offered for being such a good customer.
just an example :)

Rogers for example if you call in to cancel your plan immediately put you through retention witch will do anymeans necessary to keep you eliminate that think of the employees they have to hire and fire and all related expenses and the discounts they offer to try and keep them just simply offer someone whos been with koodo like 1 year 2 years 3,5 10 ect

Make it that loyal customers get a little better discount on phones or make a 3 tier loyalty plan offering customers who have been with Koodo for like 3 years or more the ability to pic from one of 3 loyalty plans. Anyway you do it some sort of loyalty program would be good because as wind like providers expand coverage more and more customers are going to leave and from what I hear it's already happening. - KID ANDROID. That's why that Koodo should focus more on having cheap plans with more features inside, not just focus on existing customers getting the better deal. How will Koodo expand if you need to be with the carrier for 3 years to get a better deal. As towards to the comment to Wind, they have extremely limited coverage, and they charge $1/mb of data and 45cents/min if you go out of your local zone. People move around, and if there is no wind coverage people usually choose us.

I do not want to sound like Koodo is a cheap Company, but what about customers that are with Koodo for 3 years but they are may be bad payees, they do not pay their bills in due date, they may also become delinquent, they may have overdue status, credit seekers, not all of customers that stayed with koodo for 3 years are good customers, I might be a loyal cusotmer but I do not pay my bills steadily and Koodo collections should always remind me that I have to pay my bills, so and forth.
Do you think these customers deserve any better discount or uppgrade them to newer or higher plans for free knowing that Koodo is loosing money.

Already there. I've changed my plan this weekend. 2Gb of data, unlimited text + voice, voice mail, 60$/month. Good enough!

Mat-I believe maybe I should have added on-I am saying dedicated customers-Those who have been in good payment standing, not currently over due ,and maybe have only been past due 3 times throughout the year-as we all know life happens and there are many situations that this can cause past due account to happen-no customer who has been send to colllections -I am sure that the higher powers can take this suggestions and tinker with the idea:)

If its the case then I will rise my hand to ask Koodo to think twice to give those
good and loyal customers incentives that will allow them to stay and not switch to another competitor becasue they desserve to be rewarded for their loyalty and good customership without any hesitation, it should be happening sooner than later to keep them for another 3 years.

Suspensions and missed payments can happen to the best of us, ( or as Linda put it "life happens"). As long as the customer makes a concerted effort to pay and their amounts owing and haven't gone delinquent, those customers should still be able to get in on the opportunity. It's more than likely Koodo will use their own discretion as well, if this idea becomes implemented. Not all of us here have been here since Koodo's inception, so a customer that has accumulated three or more consecutive years of loyal service with Koodo should still be able to take advantage of this opportunity.

for me if the bill is $71.96 for example i always round up to the nearest 5 dollars to make it $75. yes i have been late due to incorrect amount owed to me though my job but i still over pay the amount due. i agree that there should be gift cards or a add on only for people like me who have been a loyal customer since March 09.

They shuld have a separate loyalty program for ppl who do that stuff If I was runing koodo I would encourage my customers to do that and give then a insensitive criteria would be over pay and on time would put you in this section as well the time frame you pay the bill once it comes out

I like this idea but what else could Koodo offer? and not just for 3 years!

I've been with Koodo for I think a year now and I keep bumping my plan up to i can fill my tab so I can get a new phone.

I'm a bit rough with my phone so they only make them a year if that.

what about those who have been with Koodo get a few extra tab points or a $5-$20 gift card towards any new perches or a few funky colored phone cases for their phone.

I love my koodo phone and my koodo plan but I also feel that it is not fair to add all the bonus stuff top new activations. Those of us who have been with Koodo since the beginning have missed out on a lot of "free swag." Even if it is only something little I believe it would be beneficial to any company to show their existing customers that they are appreciated.

Discounts on an upgrade; offer a few "half price accessories" days; or even at the 2 (for example) year mark of your tab being open just taking off a small portion would inspire a lot of customer loyalty.

I understand that sometimes it is just not financially savvy for companies to give out too much but it would be nice if Koodo (or many other companies) would show some loyalty to those who stay with them for so long, and not just to those who are switching from another company. :D

That is so true, i missed out on $100 gift card for my upgrade i got today because it was an upgrade and not a new activation....basically i am activating a new phone....why should i have to be a new customer or change my phone number or provider to recieve it.

I like what I heard Wind does and no matter what your tab for your phone is cleared after 2 years of having it. So then you can start a new tab and upgrade your phone. something like that would be amazing and a perfect fit in this situation. - KID ANDROID. ( Team.Android.Canada)

Koodo could do something similar to Virgin Mobile's member benefits program. The minute people activate with them they can go online and sign up to recieve perks like 10% off purchases at H&M, movie passes, etc. Clearly these two companies are very competitive and have nearly identical no-term plans but Virgin gets an edge when you bring up the extra incentives.

Humm i think koodo already offers most of that you can change you plan any time anywhere and they offer koodo dollars towards a new phone but i do agree they could do some perks fo there customers that have been with them for awhile .
I really love Koodo to come to a conclusion before Blackberry 10 launch. As a Canadian Company, i am looking for my future phone to be mostly a Black berry

I agree it would be nice to have perks. For those that are not aware: "With Koodo, Telus becomes the last of the big three wireless carriers to offer a discount service. Bell Mobility has the Solo brand, and Rogers Wireless operates Fido" So keep that in mind when making comments such as "Other big companies like Telus, Rogers and Bell are able to do those services because they have a much bigger customer audience and more funding" While Koodoo has it own division, it cannot give as good as perks otherwise Telus will loose some of its competative advantage to its own company.
Photo of John Lee

John Lee

  • 36,724 Points 20k badge 2x thumb
Yes that is correct. Obviously Telus (who owns Koodo) wants customers to sign up with Telus, more than they do with Koodo. So Koodo will be restricted from doing certain things because of Telus' demands.

Also, in general, companies don't tend to give out "free stuff" just for nothing because obviously that means you lose money and businesses want profit. Companies may give out "free stuff" as promotions to get other customers to sign up with the company but since Koodo is under a restriction (from Telus) and is a smaller company, they can only do so much.

Yes but when a company like wind comes in and starts giving perks once they have coverage in ppls areas they are going to go with wind with there better pricing and perk like device tab paid in full no matter what. Koodo will begin to lose more and more customers as wind expands most ppl don't go out of there home region very much. It's something Koodo should think of as wind expands if winds prices stay the same. - KID ANDROID. ( Team.Android.Canada).

Name a provider that is offering outstanding promotions other than the "Big 3". If WIND Mobile is going to be an answer, technically their coverage is so poor, they need those promotions to be even considered in the business.
Photo of Paul Deschamps

Paul Deschamps, Mobile Master

  • 198,928 Points 100k badge 2x thumb
That's why I said above that wind is constantly growing and as they grow and become available to more customers there are going to be more ppl leaving. Most ppl stay within the area they live most of the time so as they expand more ppl arnt going to care about them not being available in the areas far away from the main cities. With wind having unlimited talk, text and Web in the areas they cover I really think Koodo better start putting together a plan to keep customers. It's not going to be forever that wind has such small coverage areas. Go to their site and check it out, they are constantly putting up new towers and gaining ground. - KID ANDROID.
