Hi,
There seems to be a data charge that occurs every month. I don't have data on this phone. could you please tell me what those recurring charges are for? Thank you.

How do you expect us to tell you when we can't see your bill? Clearly you do have data usage on the phone. Call Koodo if you want an explanation. They can see your bill, we can't.

Why so mad? You're Zan-freaking-gief! Man, if I were Zangief I'd be the happiest guy on the Koodo community.

Dianne, this is customer forum. We can help you with a lot. Even with your bill explanation. We would have to see it though minus your personal info.

If you have a smartphone it does come with the capability of accessing the internet. You may not have done it knowingly but it happens. If your phone came with app, like the weather, it automatically checks for updates and that uses data. Just disable data on your phone and you'll be fine. Go under settings and find the data on/off switch.

Hi Cynthia, you already started your own topic. Please don't revive an 8 months old topic with several messages, one is enough in ONE thread :)

If you're very worried about data leakage, you can request a data block from Koodo. There is no charge for this add-on. The stipulation is that picture messages will no longer work if you do this.

And that's why data block is such a pain in the butt. :-) When you can control everything yourself why would anyone waste time to call, be on hold and then the one time yo want to take a picture and send it to someone you have to call again be on hold etc. Such a headache.

Some people just aren't very good with phones and want to be protected. It's also good for parents to block data for their kids' phones.

In addition, depending on the phone you have, you may be able to change you APN settings so data is disabled while leaving MMS enabled
