I just switched from a Blackberry to a Samsung Discovery....I had a plan that I pay for unlimited text messages and 50 airtime minutes per month and didn't change anything with that or at least I didn't think I did,,,now I seem to be getting charged for data,,,,does anyone know why this could be happening????

Data leakage I'm assuming. You'll have to turn the data off in your phone in the settings. Double check with customer service that is indeed data leakage and if it is they will credit the account and add a data block from their end as well.

On Android there are widgets that consume data when they are on your home screens as they are syncing info from the app they are for. The weather widget that usually comes on your home screen on Samsung phones out of the box will consume data to check the weather over the Internet. Also apps such as your email, Facebook, Twitter etc will consume data if your not signed out of them to give you a notification of a message or such,
so sign out before you close the app your using or you'll consume data when your not connected to a wifi connection.
