Probably be best if we had a choice for Data-Add On features. I know currently we have it set up in tiers if you go over such as $5/200MB, but it would be nice if we had a choice for something like $10 for 500MB or $15 for 1GB

That's called data overages. Koodos' current plans do not allow for data only addons. If you pick a Talk & Text plan, you get the pay per use data saver tier structure. If you go with a rate plan with included data, then you just pay whatever data overage you end up encurring.

and that's my point... allow data add-on packages on current plans that have data in them... just like with airtime addons for plans with x amount of airtime. A proactive solution to avoid call-drivers and billshock.

It doesn't work like that. It ends up becoming a billing issue because the data isn't read properly.

lol

God forbid Koodo might have to update their billing system to take into account a potential new addon that could benefit many customers.

It has to do with a conflict between the data saver tiers and fixed data amounts.

Surely their could be a solution to that conflict though. If we're automatically disqualifying ideas because they essentially aren't 'plug and play' with the current way billing is set up, we're pretty limited....

There may not be a solution to that though. The issue has been around for awhile and no fix has ever come out.

Fair enough

You can removed the Tier option as a feature from the Plan and create a new one that compliments this idea. Obviously you can't have both because the nature of the plan is as such that within each tier you pay for the usage limit that you cross. On the other hand you could change the pricing on the tiers but I was going for a more proactive choice on behalf of the client.

Not seeing the point or advantage of paying for an addon that you may or may not use when right now you just pay for what you go over or data used anyways. Doesnt seem like theres any advantage to this idea IMO.

There is an advantage: Lets say current plan you pay $5/200Mb per tier . instead of paying $25/gb you can buy an advance package for $15/gb and save $10,

Exactly, the benefit of data saver is that your overages can't skyrocket but buying extra data beforehand can be an attractive lower-cost option. The catch is that if you don't use it - it's gone.

I would love to see the built in data saver become an option and have add on data buckets added to the available selection.

The data saver used to be a lot better as did the overage rate. Options would be appreciated.

My plan doesn't include data so an add on data plan would be good as I dont want to change my plan as I like the minutes/price and current plans much more costly.

Your plan does include data, it's just pay per use instead of a bucket of data.

I suppose but at 5 bucks for 25mb, it costs too much so I dont use it. Koodo would make more money from me if a data add on package with a better rate was available. It woould be reoccurring revenue as I would pay for it every month even if I didn't use it. Currently I only use it if absolutely necessary which is rarely for me.

For example wind has data add on of 100mb for 5 bucks, virgin has 50mb for 7.50, and fido has data passes of 20mb for 1 buck, 100mb for 5 bucks, and 200 mb for 10 bucks.
