Data Usage Overbilling

i seem to have been over billed for data usage yesterday.
All i did was turn on my data usage in order to send a picture via text message. When i did so, a notification came up on the phone saying "currently unable to download, please try again later".
So i decided to disconnect my phone and turn it back on again to see if that would make a difference. When i did so the problem had corrected itself and the "4G" icon appeared at the top of my screen on the phone and i was able to send the picture via text.
Shortly afterwards i received a text from koodo indicating that i have used over $10 in data for this month thus far. When i check my billing it states that i had been charged $15 during what amounted to a 2 minute span of what i have described above.
Please help give me some direction in who i can contact in order to rectify this.

Depending on your data allowances on your plan, once you go over you (even if 1mb) then you incur data overages.

When you rebooted your phone the device most likely would have triggered data usage in the background
