Data Roaming in USA

In the US, just added Data Roaming to my account through my computer.  How do I know that it is activated on my cell phone which has been off since I left Canada.   I just turned my cell on and it shows T-Mobile... is that the roaming company for the US?

Data roaming, or Easy Roam? Easy Roam is the current implementation of Koodo’s roaming package.
Yes, to my knowledge T-Mobile is a roaming partner, though AT&T is the primary one.

Do you mean you added the "International Data Roaming" add-on? That's not needed to use data in the US, only outside of NA but good to have none the less.
If you meant east roam then you should be able to see this listed under your add-ons and should have received and email confirming you added it.

And yes, T-Mobile is one of Koodo's US roaming partners.

Hi... I have been locked of my mail provider because they figured I move from one location to another so for security reason, they need to send me a text on my cell which is off because I am traveling in the US.   So now to get access to my mail, I have to get the easy roam activated so I can fix the problem.   So I wanted to make sure that when I turn on my cell phone, that the easy roam is on.  When I did a few mins ago... it showed T-Mobile, so I shut it off thinking it had picked up another provider.

Lyne, everything sounds like it's good.
Have you tested it out? Are you not receiving texts?

So how do I know that my data roaming is activated and the right partner is on my phone?

Yes 24 hours.
Just to note though, incoming texts are free. As long as you don't make or answer any calls, send any texts or use data then you won't be charged. If all you need is to receive one text then you won't have to worry about being charged

Just so I understand you right.   As Data Roaming, Easy Roam etc (whatever they called it)... can be very confusing as there are lots of grey areas....  So if phone is on and I don't do any calls nor open mails or texting.. I can receive texts and not be charge.  Also Easy Roam will not be charged for each 24 hrs?  Am I understanding you right or way off the line...  Thanks for your patience.

You will get charged when:
You use cellular data
You make a phone call
You answer an incoming call
You send a text

Once you do one of the above easy roam starts and is active for 24 hours.

Recieving a text from anyone is free.
