Data Plan Add-on offer

I got this text from Koodo and wondered if it was a one month add-on or a permanent add on that would be charged every month? And does it mean as the phrasing implies that that much added data would be put on the account?  Did anyone else get something similar and how does it work. Thanks for your advice.

"KOODO: We've noticed you used over 90% of your data last month. Reply 5DATA to add 400 MB of additional data to your plan for only $5/mth plus tax, or text 10DATA to get 1 GB of additional data for $10/mth plus tax! Offer expires in 10 days"

That would be an ongoing option if you go for it. Just reply 5DATA or 10DATA, depending on your need, and you will be charged resp. $ 5 or 10 every month (+taxes).

Thank you for your comment. I assume that could be cancelled though using self serve if you decided you didn't need it? (Travelling in areas where wifi is scarce this summer). Also do the amounts get added on to the 300 I already have? That would more than double current levels for $5 or triple it for $10? Thanks for letting me know.

That would be an addition to you actual plan. Through self serve you can change your plan. This is a random offer and you may not receive another similar offer in the future

One followup - would you be able to revert to the 300MB plan we have at the same price? Or would they steer us to a more expensive option if we sought to downgrade again? I am not sure if that plan continues to exist or not. Thanks for letting me know.

I got a similar offer a week ago. It is added to your plan right away as an add on. You can remove just the add on in self serve once you don't need it and keep your current plan.

You can change your plan once a month. If you go to your "SELF SERVE" you find all the possible plans available from Koodo and, occasionally, you can find interesting options of discounted plans.

Is it too late to get this?  I don't have the text anymore.
