How can I change the phone number to which the data alert goes to? I think my son's phone is coming to mine and I want it to go to his so he is aware of when he is getting close

The alert going to it's own number.
If your son's phone number/plan hit certainĀ % of use, then he will receive alert.

Also, (I'm assuming he is under your account) if you log into self serve, you can check his usage and give him some warning too.
(I do that to my son since he have to pay any overage charges)

You can try an SMS forwarding app:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.frzinapps.smsforward

Could be useful for an account $$$ holder to know when other folks on the account are getting data warnings.

@ Janet, Mayumi is correct. Notifications go to each user. The plans you are on gives an alert at 90%. Then again when you are $10 over, $25 over and so on.
