Is data measured by the phone the same as the data measured by koodo? I got a phone notification saying I was almost at the limit but the koodo rep said I would get a text message and I haven't received one from koodo. Thanks!

Yes but Koodo's usage system is a few hours delayed AS WELL as the notifications. So your phone is more accurate to your real-time data usage but your official usage is your self-serve usage

Your phone or an app for tracking data usage is more trusty vs Koodo alerts. Koodo alerts can be delayed for 4-6 hours, and by this time those Cat videos on YouTube have put you into over limit zone, until Koodo let's you know and then it may be wrong.

If you have Android device set your data limit and create Alerts. Since your phone keeps track of mobile data used it will alert you in "real-time" vs "delayed alerts".

Aldo we live in such day and age there is still few issues that seem to pop up, and one being "real-time" updates. Most companies do not offer this option as it costs more money to operate a "real-time" system.

You also need to make sure the usage cycle on your phone matches your billing cycle with Koodo, otherwise they reset on different days and the warnings on your phone mean little or nothing.

Hi Meagan,

As Ahmad mentioned, the SMS notifications are not in
real-time. The best way to take a look at you data usage would be in your
self-serve account. Just a hint, you can control your data by turning it off into
your settings :)

Have a great one!
