I read others have similar issues but the posts are a year old--iphone 6. pre-paid Kudoo text only plan. I add data booster when I need it. Away from wifi, I use internet on my iphone never, only for emergencies and Google Map searching for an address. In Canada, my data evaporates. I think it kicks in when I am on spotty wifi connection. In the US, I never run out of data. Same usage, same settings, same phone.
--help, what settings do I need to set, to use only wifi? Is it easy to switch back for the time to key in a Google Map address location? Forget about the explanation. I reads posts saying "you don't NEED data, and should only use 80mb,..." Funny haha. Please, help only on settings. That would be helpful already enough. Thanks all.

Turn off wifi assist to prevent data use on wifi.

And you can turn off data by app in settings on iPhone in the data usage screen

Sorry it's in French. But it says 60% and data. That's: "I've used 60% of my data." Screen grab today. Yesterday at 11:40pm I put 1G's worth ($30). - oh no. My mistake. Yesterday I put phone minutes. The data I have put THIS MORNING!! See the transaction and the date time. By 1PM, I had used half of the 1000mb. Also, didn't keep a screen grab of previous add-on data booster, I'll deal with billing for that, from my history of transaction. That's why I say, neither the usage on my iphone, nor the usage on my Koodoo, match my billing on Koodoo. I keep running out of data, and have no more access to the internet when I am on the road, even though I have not actually used that data -- not that it shows. So...it evaporates, with records of usage not matching billing.

But it doesn't behave like this outside of Gatineau Quebec, ie: Saskatchewan, nor in the US. See how little I have been billed for data in the US, while I was continuously on Google Map, checking Facebook and emails, and backing up photos on icloud. 500mb purchased, and only 136.045mb used in 7 days.

In sefl serve, Go to the tab called "Base Plan + Booster Add-on(s)"
Then scroll down to "Current Booster Add-on(s)" and click "View Booster Add-on Usage"
Does this table show multiple data boosters that are all partially used?
Can you post a screen shot of this table?

That's actually a super interesting suggestion. Checked. And no. But could have been. PS both data are 1 for Canada, 1 for US. I still can't believe I went through being charged for so much. Thanks for the help. I have to go for the day.

Ok now lets go to your usage history for the date between August 4- 31.
Does the usage add up to close to 590mb used?

Looks like your phone transferred 565 MB over a number of days at a little past midnight. Note the billing time may not be in your current time zone.

Your phone keeps records of the amount of data used by each app. You can review, and reset the counter to try and determine what is happening.

In addition, data reporting is not always real time, and may accumulate to particular time slots, as you can see by the repetitive times of reporting on your bill.

Thanks David. But billing tells me I have used a little under 600mb already, which happened in one day over 7-8 Aug. as you can see, the usage tells me: 0 for those dates. And 575mb in the past days isn’t 1000mb. I see maybe the total data is computed in a bunch, maybe in the middle of the night. It still doesn’t add to 2000mb within 7 days. Definitely not 600mb over 14 hours. So there’s something odd with numbers.

Sitting next to a landline in Gatineau, might it be possible your cellphone connected to a tower on the other side of the river? Radio waves don’t suddenly stop at provincial borders.

That I understand. But it’s scary that out of province billing kicks in as I am at 25min driving from the border. Montreal (514) number gets the (613) tower, while the (819) cellphone (other example) picks up the (819) tower, both calling physically from the same 25min drive from Ontario. Good to know.
