I got a message on my phone that I exceeded my data limit. I have not been using my phone much so I checked my plan on the website and it is showing that I still have a lot of data. Which one is right? Thank you.

I would go by the text, did it say you've exceeded or that you used 75%?

Depending on what type of phone you have, the manufacturer can set them so they automatically download updates whether you are on WiFi or not. If you have an android phone you can usually go into settings and data usage. Once there it will tell you how much you've used, and it will also show you the apps that are using the data.
