Data is not working, ported in from Telus this afternoon

I ported in from telus this afternoon and my LG G5 is not working on data. I was ensured that I would not need to unlock the device as it is the same device sold by Koodo.

I have text, and voice, and got the congrats text from koodo saying I am now on the network.

I am using the following apn


proxy: blank

port: blank

username: blank

password: blank

Server: blank


mmsc proxy:

mms port: 80

mcc: 302

mnc: 220

Auth type.: blank

APN type: default, mms

APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6

Not being unlocked is not the issue. If it were you wouldn't even be able to connect with a Koodo SIM. It can take time for everything to work when you port over. The API settings look good for Android. Sometimes two days. If its still not working after midnight tonight, it could be another 24 hours.

Sometimes switching the phone off, remove the SIM card for a few minutes and put it all back again helps too... no guarantees but won't hurt to try :)

Sometimes after porting it can take upwards of 24hours to get everything working. I would keep rebooting every few hours if it still isn't working. Also toggling airplane mode can also help bring it in.

Porting a number shouldn't affect one's days connection should it? I thought it only affected people calling or texting the number that is being ported?

My sister couldn't use her phone for 2 days when she ported. Incoming or outgoing. Was stupid *EDIT not with koodo*

YMMV. It can be radically different. It shouldn't but can happen. As I always say nothing is 100% and even 99.9% success rates for wireless carriers results in thousands of issues.

Hey guys! I recently had a similar experience.. I tried out a Telus LG G5 on my Koodo line a few weeks back.  I tried changing the APN settings, resetting the network connection and nothing worked to get the data working..until I factory reset the phone.  From then, I reset the phone with my Koodo SIM card and the data worked  - I didn't even need to change the APN settings.  Try that, and let us know if it works :)
