How does Koodo monitor our data usage? Is it accurate???? Ever since I came to Koodo I have apparently been using over 2GB of data before one billing cycle is even over. I have not changed any settings and use the internet less than I used to. I cannot possibly be using the amount of data as Koodo claims.

Well I have found Koodo's data counter extremely accurate, Kelsey. You might consider installing a data monitor app, that way you'll see quickly what all this data is used for.

I use less than 80MB per month (but I'm an exception, I know) :)

use the koodo self serve app to see how much you use a day and also check ur settings to see if anything is running in the background.

I also find it absolutely accurate. I never even come close to my 2Gbs with heavy usage. Also, make sure you have certain things set to download over Wifi only, like playstore updates and app updates/software updates that will stop alot of unnecessary usage that can be done at home over wifi. Playstore>Three bar menu top left>scroll down to settings and check off AUTO UPDATE APPS on wifi.

B sure to look in settings and data to see which apps and processes are taking up all that data. The culprit should be revealed in there.

Yes - when I was with Virgin I would never go over 1 Gb, All my settings were set to wifi only and disabled data usage on some apps etc (and these settings have not changed) but my data usage keeps going up. My data app says I have used less then Koodo claims and I have tried many different data apps.

I can assure you the data is the same. The only way to have high usage, is to use data more. If all Ur settings are set to WiFi, than the only data being used is by yourself. A GB here is the same as a GB anywhere else.

I barely ever have my data turned on anymore, when I was with Virgin I never turned it off and used less data. When I called Koodo about it they couldnt give me a straight answer as to how they monitor data usage

Did you install a new app recently perhaps?

I don't think Puffin browser is rogue... Very strange!

I'd install a data monitoring app such as My Data Manager or 3G Watchdog and see if anything unusual pops up. What does your built in data app say you used data on?

One data manager/watcher that worked well for me was Opera Max.

This is what my Note 4 tells me I used data on as an example...

I have tried My data manager, it was pretty close to monitoring the same as my built in one. My built in one says the top uses are pinterest and google services but it still says ive used just under 1Gb and Koodo says ive used almost exactly 2Gb if it was only a few mb i wouldnt complain but it seems excessive

Hello Kelsey.

Do as Goran suggested above to see what application uses the most data. You'll find hour problem there!
