How the heck do I contact someone at Koodo to argue data charges?  I had data blocked when I signed up.

How did you have data blocked, did Koodo block it?

When you log into self serve, under add-ons, do you see data block added to your account?

Hi Michel, I've looked at your account and the service agreement when you signed with us and there is no data block on your account.  If you still want data block, you can log into Self Serve to add it.

@ Michel There is no data block on your account. That's a monthly feature for $2 if you want us to completely shut off data on your account. However, you can easily turn off data on your phone settings yourself. It looks like data was used on at least 2 separate occasions on the 28th and the 30th of December.

I noticed today, after your email notification, that data was turned on.  I did NOT turn it on and nobody has access to my phone, so why was it turned on when it has been off for two years since I've been with you?

Do you have a phone number, or lacking that an email address?

No email. You can dial 611 from your phone. Just a heads up that wait time is likely long (up to 30-40 mint) right now. Facebook is easy and convenient.

Something on your phone must be using data on your background. Maybe an app you opened accidentally. Yo can shut the data off on your phone under settings Michel. That is a good option.

What is the facebook address or name.  Also, I verified the time of usage.  On Dec 28 at 5:47, I boarded a plane from Nanaimo to Ottawa and put my phone on "airplane mode".  On Dec 30 at 8:42 is about the time that I remembered to turn off "airplane mode".  Tha is what I am being charged for.

It's likely then that your phone defaulted to data on when you shut off aorplane mode. To confirm when you checked if your data was on, was it on an d you turned it off, or was it off when you looked?

"What is the facebook address or name."

You can simply click on the 'f' at the bottom of the page or go to Facebook.com/koodo

I had the same thing happen. The rep set up the account and confirmed that there was no data. I asked about what would happen if the data was on his phone and she confirmed that Koodo would block data to the phone based on the plan I had chosen for my son even if the data was turned on. Now I have an overage charge for data when it wasn't supposed to even be allowed at all. Seems the rep was not privy to the additional surcharge to block data completely.

There is a $2 add on that the rep at the store can add to block all data charges.  The only thing you'll be able to do with your data turned on is send picture messages, and you will not be charged for those.  Your phone itself will still count that as data being used, but Koodo will not charge you for that data.

EDIT - just because you have no data included in your plan, you still have Pay Per Use data, and that is where the overage comes from.  If you do not want to use PPU data, get the $2 Data Block Add-on
