DATA - Accidentally used up 90% in 10mins but received no text warning as expected!

Brand new customer, I couldn't connect to data on my old phone for some reason so I bought a new one at Costco and put the sim in ... there were no text warnings, and the data was sucked away in minutes (400 of 500mb in 10 minutes) Now I thought I would have been getting a 40% data used warning with shock-free data???

If you just signed up with Koodo in the last 10 days your data use should not count against your monthly total. The first 10 days of data use are unlimited for exactly this reason. If this is the case, the reason you didn't receive a warning is that koodo does not consider any data to have been used yet.

When you buy a new phone, it's almost 99% certain that mobile data will be on by default. If it's been sitting on the shelf for more than a few weeks, once a data connection is made, there will be lots of background updates to be done.

Lesson to be learned: set your Google Play defaults to update only while on wifi before you go shopping for new gear. My Koodo boutique sales rep got me to transfer my contacts over to the new gear before leaving, and showed me how to turn mobile data off and on so that updates could happen at my convenience while on wifi.

@Jeremy on May 11th we sent you 2 SMS. One at 50% data use and the other is at 90% twenty minutes later.
